Gardens...

August is $2 Tuesdays at Thanksgiving Point so Tuesday evening my sisters and I decided to go to the Gardens. It was such a beautiful night and the kids behaved pretty good. We had a talk with them beforehand because we didn't want them getting lost like last time. Here are my favorite pictures (I get a little camera happy at places like these-I just can't help myself!) ...

When we get together, the three of us mom's take turns bringing something to eat for everyone. It was Stacy's turn and she brought a pizza... yummy!

Maddy was really excited to feed the fish. He made sure he had a quarter in his pocket and wanted to go straight to the coy pond as soon as we got there. I told him it was at the other end and he would have to wait until we got to it. He kept asking me along the way how far it was. We finally made it...

Jamie gave all the kids a penny to throw in the wish pond and make a wish. As you can see they also had some fun playing in the water and getting their hair wet...

These Zinnia flowers reminded all of us of our Mom. She loves them and would plant a bunch of them while we were growing up.

Of course we can't leave without the kids having some fun rolling down the grass!

Maddy said he was too tired to sit up so that is why he was laying in my lap-funny kid! His eyes being closed was a total accident as well, but I thought this picture turned out so cute because of it... sums up the night! We stopped and got ice cream cones on the way home and the kids were so excited to see Steve was there when we got home.

Never Choose the Left...

We were discussing the movie we watched on Sunday night, "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief." Specifically about the "Medusa" character and Maddy was telling me he wouldn't look at her eyes no matter what...

Maddy: "Mom, I would keep my eyes closed so tight so she couldn't turn me into stone."

Me: "Well I'm so glad because I wouldn't like it if she turned you to stone because I would miss my Maddy hugs so so much!"

Maddy: "I know Mommy!"

Me: "No matter how hard someone tries to trick us we should always try and choose the right huh?"

Maddy: *spoken as if I had insulted his smartness* "I know Mom, *insert a visual DUH!* we never choose the left!"

P.S. He is all into left and right lately. While we are driving he is constantly asking me if I'm turning left or right next.

"Bachelorette" Party...

I guess it has become a tradition for my sister's and I to get together to watch the Bachelor/Bachelorette finales. It's always fun to just get together for any reason...

(veggies & dip, homemade salsa & chips, snack sized candy bars, ice cream drumsticks and lemonade),

Good entertainment...

... what more could 4 sisters want (besides the 5th to be here!?!)

P.S. We may or may not have been drooling over Roberto the entire time (we were kind of hoping Ali wouldn't pick him so he could be the next Bachelor) ...

Monday 8/2/10

The 30th Time...

Stacy was definitely the favorite aunt on this trip to Seven Peaks! She was out in the Wave Pool with the kids playing, splashing, dancing... you name it she did it!

My nephew Cole decided to take another snooze on my lap (and he slept the whole time) so I didn't move from this spot until it was time to pack up and leave.

Stacy brought these little foam toys and the kids are obsessed with and fight over them... I'm always amazed at the things that entertain kids!

Fun times! I can't believe Summer is almost over... although I am looking forward to Fall!

Whatever Wednesday: Inception...

Saturday night Steve and I went out and saw "Inception" with our friends Brad and Jamie. It was such an awesome, trippy movie! Loved it and want to see it again. Go see it! Thanks Laney for watching the kids-you are awesome!

Beautiful Stormy Sky...

Sunday night we had some friends over and we were hanging out chatting and I looked out the window and the sky looked so strange/beautiful. There was a big storm brewing and the sky looked different every direction you looked. There were so may colors and the lighting was so surreal... everything looked "fluorescent" I guess you could say. There was like a really cool glow. Brittney and I both grabbed our cameras to take some pictures. I took these shortly before 9pm before we headed down to watch a movie (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief) ...

Sunday 8/1/10

One Last Time...

Saturday was the last day of July (and the last day for Seven Peaks pass holders to go to Trafalga for free.) It was our 6th trip. Shalane was able to come with us and we all had a fun time! LOVE the picture above (they wanted to ride together) ... so sweet!

This ride had had enough and quit working once we got on-so this was as high as we got before we had to get off... bummer!

We had some fun rock climbing...

The knobs were a bit slippery, but I made it without falling.

Saturday 7/31/10

First Haircut...

Avery had her very first haircut on Saturday. Brooke just had us come over real quick before we headed to Trafalga. Her hair was getting so long (in the back at least), but it is still pretty thin so it looked pretty stringy unless it was curled or in a ponytail. Avery did a great job and held really still for Brooke. I think it turned out so cute and looks a lot thicker. Here is a before...
