Just Plain Tired...
Wednesday after going to Seven Peaks, a Dr.'s appointment and to the pharmacy to fill a prescription the kids and I came home pretty tired. I rested on the couch for a bit before heading down to workout shortly before six. Usually the kids come down while I'm working out and they never did. I noticed the house was super quiet and this is what I found when I came up around seven. They had both climbed into Avery's bed and fell asleep... so cute!

Seven Peaks #11...
Today the girls were all about collecting rocks.
The boys play pretty hard so when they finally crash they crash hard.
And we were so glad to have Stacy and kids back... they were on vacation in Vegas last week.

Movie Night...
Steve was out of town for a business trip until Sunday so Saturday evening I invited Jamie (and kids) and my friend Brittney (and kids) over to watch a movie and have treats. There were 9 kids ages 7 and under which made for a mad house! Of course Maddy decided he wanted to pull out this messy paint activity and so I made them get everything cleaned up first. They all had fun making their paint wheels and we had a quick dinner and sent the kids down to watch Gnomeo and Juliet while Jamie, Brittney and I stayed upstairs and hung out. We had a great time but we were all exhausted by the end of the night. We've been crazy busy nonstop for weeks now and I think it has caught up to us. As soon as everyone left we all crashed.
One of the finished products.
Thanks Jamie and Brittney for a fun night!

Annual Neighborhood Food Fight...
Every Summer our fun neighbors the Yarro's host a neighborhood food fight. It's pretty fun to watch but I haven't been able to convince my kids to participate yet. They prefer playing on the playground and just watching. Maddy fell and hurt his arm right before they started so that didn't help the situation at all. Then a little bit of whipping cream splashed on him and he had a bit of a melt down (he was already super tired from our little sleepover and the Macey's carnival.) Needless to say we didn't stay very long.
Thanks Yarro's!

Macey's Carnival...
Saturday morning after our little sleep over at Jamie's we took the kids to the Macey's Carnival. There were blow up bouncy houses, games (with prizes), balloons, different food eating contests, and of course cheap food (hot dog, chips and soda all for $1) and treats...
Can't turn down free ice cream :)
Dallin tried out the soda drinking contest and ended up not feeling very well :(
Avery wanted a monkey...
Maddy wanted a dragon...
It was a hot day and after a couple hours we were all hot, tired and ready to go.

Sleepover...
Since both of our husbands are out of town on business trips Jamie and I decided to have a little sleepover at her house on Friday night. It was the first time the kids have slept anywhere but our house except for the few nights we spent at Lake Powell a couple Summer's ago. It was pretty fun! We ordered pizza and popped popcorn for the kids while they watched Tangled and TRON and Jamie and I chatted and got caught up on our blogs.
I don't think Maddy is quite ready for a real sleepover yet because he wanted to sleep where I was sleeping. So all the kids (except Lola) ended up sleeping on Jamie's bedroom floor. Maddy had a bit of a rough night and kept waking up crying and Avery woke up crying once. I guess we will wait a bit before trying one without me being there...
Thanks for having us Jamie, we will have to do it again!

Dippidee Pirate Party...
Thursday Jamie and I took the kids to a "Pirate Party" at Dippidee (which is a local bakery.) It was fun attempting to find stuff in their closets to dress them up (we were pirates for Halloween four years ago but of course their costumes no longer fit them.) There was a little fish pond, face painting, pirate tattoos, coloring and a treasure hunt. We let the kids all pick out a cupcake before we left but we made them wait to eat them until after we had lunch at Chick-fil-A.
A sword for Maddy...
And a treasure chest for Avery... (the girl doing the painting was so sweet and let the kids pick out all the colors they wanted painted on.)
Steve flew out to California that afternoon for the weekend for a business trip (and I'm already a bit lonely) so the kids and I went to visit Brittney (and family) that evening. They usually come over on Sunday's for dinner and a movie but haven't for quite a while because they have a brand new baby and life has been crazy busy for us as well. We've really missed them so it was fun hanging out, catching up and of course holding her beautiful baby for a while. We are hoping to get together again sometime this weekend.

Bitter Sweet Goodbye...
We sold our 210 gallon fish/reef tank and Wednesday was the day it got emptied :( Our friend Randy came and took out all the corals and rock and then (really) late that evening Steve and I had the privilege of cleaning out the (really really smelly-think sulfur) gravel, water and whatever else was in the bottom of the tank after having it over seven years (with salt water tanks you never completely clean out the tank you just do a 10% water change weekly.) It took us several hours but we were glad to have it done. It was the first thing we put into our house when we bought it and moved in and we will miss it for sure! I have lots of memories of rocking my kids in that room at night before bedtime. It was so relaxing just watching it and losing track of time. It was such a beautiful tank and I already miss the sound of it (the house is so quiet now), but it will be nice for Steve to not have to worry about the cost and time that goes into maintaining it. We may eventually get another one (probably smaller) but will enjoy having our office back upstairs for now...

Kids Summer Day Camp #2...
Wednesday Jamie and I took the kids to the Summer Day Camp again so we could go out and play. It's such a great deal we can't pass it up! $5 per kid for three hours of freedom :) The kids had lots of fun because they played a bunch of water games, made swords, had lunch, watched a movie, made jello jigglers with fish in them, and got popsicles. Jamie and I had lots of fun to grabbing lunch at Magleby's Fresh (of course we split a piece of their famous chocolate cake) and then doing a little shopping at some boutiques and a novelty store ;)

Provo Library Craft/Story Time-Picnic #4...
We headed to the library again on Tuesday and the kids made another fun craft. The kids also got their "half way" prize for Summer reading, which was a sucker and a bookmark. Then we headed outside for a picnic and story time before heading to Seven Peaks again.

Father's Day...
This is the one and only picture I took of Steve and the kids real quick before heading to church on Father's Day and I absolutely love it! The Primary kids sang a song in Sacrament Meeting for the Dad's (although Avery was too scared to go up.) After church we headed to my parents house in Ephraim. I guess we were all a bit too relaxed because I didn't even think to take any pictures until we were leaving. I snapped these two of the guys (and their toys) right before we left...
Sunday 6/19/11
I am so blessed to have two of the most wonderful men in my life... my Dad and my Husband. Thanks to both of you for being exactly what awesome dads should be! I love you both more than you will ever know!
This was the last day we got to spend with Jen (and family) before they headed back to Texas... we will miss them so much!

Home Depot Kids Workshop...
Saturday morning Jamie and I took the kids to the Home Depot Kids Workshop. It was the first time I've taken them there and they loved it. They made tool boxes and loved how they turned out. They also loved their new aprons and the pin they got for completing the project.
Saturday 6/18/11
Lucky for them they were giving out free popcorn inside the store. After we left of course we headed to Seven Peaks (as if you can't tell by the way they are dressed!)

Huck Finn Days (Strawberry Days)...
This past Friday the kids and I went to Strawberry Days in Pleasant Grove. My sisters Jen, Jamie and Stacy (and all their kids) and my Dad and two brothers (Shawn & Justin) also came. We started the day at "Huck Finn Days." We've gone the last couple years and it's really fun and the kids love it and look forward to it every year now.
The line to have pony rides is always really long but my Dad was awesome and volunteered to wait in line while we did all the other games... he waited in line for around two hours. What a guy!
The kids eating their doughnuts they got from the Doughnut Walk.

After finishing up at Huck Finn Days we headed over to the carnival...
We got some lunch and of course had to have the famous strawberries-n-cream... so yummy!
My niece Carlee got her face painted and it looked awesome!
Of course I had to get a picture of the Ferris Wheel!
My Dad slept at our house the night before and the kids had such a fun time with him... thanks Dad!

Later that evening Steve and I and the kids went and did a little shopping and then had dinner at our favorite place Cafe Paesan. We had an enjoyable time spending time together as a family.
