Maddox's 6th Birthday...

Photobucket
I seriously can't believe how fast time flies! I can't believe Maddy is already six! Crazy! He's been counting down the days to his birthday for quite a while and wanted to have a Transformers birthday party this year.

Photobucket
Of course he had to open the presents from Avery, Rich and I first thing in the morning. He got more Beyblade stuff of course :)

Photobucket

Photobucket
We ended up inviting 24 kids and 16 made it (plus family) so it was a pretty full crazy house.

The kids also played Maddy's version of "Simon Says" which was "Optimus Prime says" and it ended up taking quite a while to get it down to two winners.

Photobucket
Aren't these two the cutest...

Maddy's cousins from Texas McKayla and Carlee were able to come and so Maddy was excited about that!

Here is a video of us singing Happy Birthday to him before having cake and ice cream...

Happy Birthday Maddy! I can't believe how fast you are growing up and how smart you are already! I just love you to pieces! Love you forever and ever and ever... Mom

His First Visit From the Tooth Fairy's...

Photobucket
Maddy's front bottom tooth had been loose for almost two weeks when it fell out. I had bought him a battery operated toothbrush (Transformers of course) and he was having a little too much fun brushing his teeth practically non-stop. He was brushing away when it fell out. He was pretty excited! He was pretty cute that night while in bed. He told me that he hoped the Tooth Fairy didn't put rocks under his pillow and said that he thought he saw sparkles that the Tooth Fairy left behind.
Photobucket
The Tooth Fairy's made sure he made out pretty good. He was so sweet and gave $1 to Avery. I had bought some new hangers for his clothes and hung them in his closet and he didn't see them until that morning and so he insists that the Tooth Fairy brought him money AND new hangers. Too funny! His other bottom middle tooth is loose, so the Tooth Fairy's might be visiting again soon...

Maddy's First Testimony...

Photobucket
On Fast Sunday almost a month ago a bunch of kids in our ward were bearing their testimonies. Maddy asked me why he never got to do that. I was quite surprised because he's usually pretty shy in those kinds of situations. I told him he could if he wanted and he practically dragged me up there to help him he was so excited. I made him wait a few minutes because there were a couple people waiting to bear their testimonies and I didn't want to leave Avery by herself for very long. I had been asked to give the opening prayer and so I made my second trip up there with him. Anyway, he did a great job (with my help) and wasn't scared at all. His first testimony went a little like this...

"I want to bear my testimony.
I know the church is true.
I know the scriptures are true.
I know Jesus loves us.
I love my family.
I say this in the name of Jesus Christ amen."

I was bummed Steve wasn't there to hear him but we called him and let him know, he was so proud of him.

His First Day...

Photobucket
The day finally came... I can't believe it! My oldest started Kindergarten. Seriously, it seems like just yesterday that I held him in my arms for the first time. I remember not sleeping at all that first night in the hospital because I couldn't bring myself to put him down... I wanted to memorize his every detail. He has been so excited to start Kindergarten and I know he will do awesome. He's such a smart kid! I'm so excited for him to learn and grow and make new friends.

They had a cute area set up to have pictures taken with them before they started class, so we got a family picture taken. Hopefully they will send it out to us soon so I can post it here on the blog. They also had "Cookies for the kids to start the day" and "Kleenex for the parents to walk away..." It was pretty cute!

Photobucket
Look at my adorable cute little big boy... got to love my reflection in the glass of the door taking his picture :)

Photobucket
Maddy and his neighbor friend Josh.

Photobucket
Maddy and three of the neighbor kids. There are actually six (including him) that all live in our neighborhood and are all in the same class... should be fun for them! Two weren't there when we took the pictures.

Photobucket
This picture is pretty blurry but I couldn't resist posting... it's so cute! Avery had to give him hugs and kisses before we left.

Photobucket
He found his desk and got right to work... without looking back. I did pretty good to, thought I would cry but I didn't.

Photobucket
One of the things we had to turn into his teacher was this little interview. I asked him the questions, he answered and then I wrote them down. It's pretty cute, I typed it out in case you can't read it...

15 Years...

Photobucket
Wednesday was Steve and I's 15th wedding anniversary. Wow, I seriously can't believe it's already been that long, kind of makes me feel old! He's such a wonderful husband and father, I feel so blessed and love him so so much!

We have been crazy busy and haven't had time to go out and celebrate yet but we did go to Jamie's that evening so the guys could ride the motorcycles... They all had a blast (and drove way too fast) and us girls had a great time chatting about all those things that girls chat about when the guys aren't around ;)

P.S. Go here for a glimpse of our wedding day...

Maddy's Preschool Graduation...

Photobucket
Tuesday was Maddox's Preschool Graduation Ceremony. I'm amazed every day how smart he is, he has learned so much this year. He is already a great reader and is starting to write small words. Would somebody please figure out a way to slow time down! Once again the kids did great singing several cute songs and Maddox is coming out of his shell a bit and sang a lot more. We also got to watch a slide show of the kids during the year and then watch them receive their diplomas.

Avery's Preschool Graduation...

Photobucket
Although school doesn't get out for Summer until 5/26/11, Tuesday was Avery's Preschool Graduation Ceremony. I can't believe that it is already the end of the year and how much she has already learned. She is growing up way too fast! It was such a cute ceremony with the kids singing several cute songs, a slide show, and of course the kids receiving their diplomas. Avery was so focused on the singing and did such a great job. She actually sang quite a bit and we really enjoyed watching her.

After everyone had received their diploma they all lined up on the "red carpet" and tossed their hats at the count of three. Avery didn't catch on though and didn't throw hers, but it was still pretty cute to watch how excited the kids all were.

She's Four...

Photobucket
Sunday was Avery's 4th birthday. I seriously can't believe it! I remember sitting in the NICU thinking she was never going to gain weight let alone come home and grow up so fast... just crazy! My Mom gave her this beautiful outfit for her birthday and so of course I had to doll her up Sunday morning. I curled her hair and painted both her finger and toe nails for the first time (I know, I'm a slacker in that department.) She was so excited and was afraid to mess them up and wouldn't touch anything for a long time. She was also asked to say the opening prayer in Sharing Time and got sung to and got to pick out a pencil, I think she felt pretty special. Later that evening we had friends over for dinner/movie so she got to play with her friend Kaysen.

I couldn't help but snap several pictures of her that morning before heading to church...

Photobucket

Photobucket
Don't you love her little heart ring... it's actually a clip for her pony's hair that fits on her finger, so it's now her ring.

Photobucket
Got to love the "bathroom shots," I finally got smart and took her out of the bathroom...

*She's very affectionate and wants to be right on your lap if you'll let her.
*She is such a monkey and is constantly climbing, hanging, swinging, etc.-I so need to get her into gymnastics!
*She's very stubborn but shy at the same time (like I was growing up and might still be) and will usually just stand there and give you a big smile when you ask her a question, without answering you.
*She is very soft spoken (unless she is mad.)
*Many times a day she says to us "Do you know how much I love you?" When you ask how much she either says "100" or 1000."

*She insists on hugs and kisses anytime either of us leave the house.
