Pumpkinland...

Photobucket
I love October because we do so many fun Halloween/Fall things all month long with my sisters. Wednesday we went to a Pumpkin Patch/Corn Maze in Orem. It was perfect weather and such a beautiful day! Here are some of the highlights...

Maddy insisted on getting all the "hairs" off the corn...

Photobucket
We just might have had a little too much fun with the corn...

Avery chewed on this for quite a while and threw a huge fit when we finally took it from her.

Doesn't he look so innocent?

Of course it is always fun to get "great" pictures, but here are some of the more "real" moments of our day...

Photobucket
Avery in timeout... haha... JK! It was pretty funny though-she was pretty content being there much to my surprise.

Photobucket
Does this look familiar? Same thing happened last year... last year was his first time peeing outside-this time it was all about how far he could get it to go(I guess he thinks he is a pro now.) :) By the time we got home he needed to go again and he wanted to "pee on a tree" even though we were home. I wouldn't let him so he wasn't very happy with me.

Photobucket
This is Maddy & Avery's new favorite thing to do. They seriously held hands the whole time we were driving to Pumpkinland. So cute! :)

Thanks Jamie and Stacy for a fun time. Thanks Jamie for the yummy banana bread! Thanks Stacy for the squash(and tomatoes!) We are going to go through withdrawals not having it every night.

Whatever Wednesday: Straight from the Closet(part one)...

Somebody living in this house has a shoe addiction and it isn't me...

I even missed circling two pair-can you see them? Not only is his collection very colorful it has taken over our closet.

I was able to fit my "collection" in one picture...

Photobucket
To top it off four of mine(the three on the top shelf and the red boots) are brand new... I got them this week and haven't even wore them yet. With a big grin on his face Steve said to me yesterday, "I made room for your new shoes" (which I hadn't taken out of the boxes yet.) Things weren't always this way-I used to love shoes! I guess working 10 years at Lowes(where comfy shoes were a must for those 12 hour workdays) and being a SAHM took a toll on my shoe interest. I'm thinking I need to embrace my love for shoes again!

If you are wondering if I have a secret stash somewhere else I(we) do... we have some in the mud room...

Photobucket
I have a few more pairs than him there(most of which I haven't worn in forever and am embarrassed that I still have.) I'm thinking it is time to toss them.

To be continued...

Gardner Village...

Photobucket
On Friday my sister's and I(and kids) went to Gardner Village. I had heard it is so cute and fun around Halloween. It was all decked out with witches and fun Halloween stuff. They had a DJ playing music above a little stage where the kids(or whoever wanted) could go dance. It definitely got me in the Halloween spirit! Just before the kids and I got off the exit there was a two car accident. Traffic was starting to back up but it had just happened and they were still in the process of calling the cops so it didn't really set us back. Well my sisters weren't so lucky and got stuck behind it for quite a while. :( So the kids and I hung out and enjoyed the music and lots of people watching(there were tons of people dressed up) until they got there. I had a fun time although the kids did get a little cranky. It was hard to go into the shops with the kids and strollers so we would take turns. My sisters and I are thinking we will dress up like witches next year and make it a GNO and leave the kids home. :)

Photobucket
Why is it so hard to get a picture with everyone looking at the camera?

Photobucket
A couple of the witches during the costume/dancing parade.

Photobucket
These two were SO fascinated with this water feature and kept coming back to it....

Photobucket
We were sure one of them was going to fall in-but we lucked out and they didn't.

Photobucket
Why oh why did I share my chocolate...

Photobucket
... she put a spell on me. :P

Photobucket
Thought this was funny!

Maddy and his sword balloon. Of course it popped before we got to the car and he had a complete meltdown. :(

This is a video of Maddy and Dallin dancing...

When I went back to my car to leave I saw that I had left my front passenger door wide open the entire 3+ hours I was there... at least I didn't have anything in it worth stealing and my battery wasn't dead. The drive home was pretty long-30 mpr the entire way home. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with traffic on a daily basis!

Thanks Stacy and Jamie for another adventurous outing... I look forward to going next year with just us girls... :)

Weekend Wrap Up...

We had a great weekend. Friday my sisters and I(and kids) went to Gardner Village. It was so festive and got me in the Halloween spirit. More on that in another post. Saturday was all about yard work...

Photobucket
Our friend Dan is doing some landscaping work for our neighbors and of course Steve is usually out there helping him. I swear they are inseparable. Of course Maddy had to be out there helping and actually stayed out there most of the day. While Avery was napping I mowed the lawn and just as I was finishing and turning the corner to go dump the grass I saw this coming right at me...

Photobucket
It was so huge! We think it might have been a tarantula but not quite sure.

I was also able to watch most of the conference sessions. Later in the evening Maddy and I hung out with my sisters and some of my sister's family members. We did a little shopping and got some yummy Chinese take out. Steve and Avery also had a fun night out together. Steve got her dressed and fixed her hair and took her to run errands and then took her out for a shake. He took this picture of her when they got home before he got her ready for bed...

Photobucket
Sunday we watched conference(as much as possible with two crazy kids.) I really enjoyed Elder Hollands talk and his testimony of the Book of Mormon. I thought it was really powerful. You can watch it here. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

Jumping Overboard...

Photobucket
Ever since we got home from Lake Powell the kids have loved playing "pirates". They put these hats(both of which are Avery's) on and pretend they are pirates. I don't think Maddy has figured out that he looks more like Little Bo Peep than a pirate. :-)

I took this video the same day... they were jumping overboard I guess...

Don't you love how Avery has one shoe on? She is obsessed with putting on any shoes she can find all day long. Beware... if you take your shoes off while visiting our house they may come up missing(she's a pirate in more ways than one)...

A day or so later Avery was jumping off the couch and hurt her ankle pretty bad and wouldn't walk on it all day. Luckily it is getting better and she is back to her normal on the go self.

Music Monday: Belief...

The first time I heard Gavin's music was at a small club. He was opening for Maroon 5 before they were even very big. He was so talented and charming... I became a fan right away. :) This is a cool version of one of my favorites...
