I'm Excited About...

Photobucket
This is the first official New Moon movie poster. I'm loving it-what do you all think? I'm looking forward to the movie in November!

Photobucket
I'm SO excited that SYTYCD starts on this Thursday. It is probably my all time favorite show! There is also some good news Fox released this week. Not only will it be on this Summer there will also be a Fall edition of SYTYCD! Sweet! :) :) :) Check out the details here.

Photobucket
Of course I watched! I think it is going to be a great season! Jillian seems to have her head in the right place so hopefully she will find what she is looking for-the first time around. It seems like there is going to be a lot of drama with all the guys. Here are my early first impression picks...

Photobucket
Kiptyn

Age: 31

Occupation: Business Developer

Hometown: Encinitas, CA

Currently Resides in: Encinitas, CA

Why... because he is super hot and just seems like a all around great guy! However I'm not a big fan of his name.

Photobucket
Wes

Age: 32

Occupation: Musician

Hometown: Huntsville, TX

Currently Resides in: Austin, TX

Why... Also pretty hot and he's a musician-I love me a musician! Especially those who can sing AND play the guitar. After watching the previews for what's to come I just hope he doesn't turn out to be a jerk! What did you all think? Who are your favorites?

Photobucket
You know I'm excited about the big showdown tonight! I really LOVE both Adam and Kris(they have been my favorites for a while) and will be happy either way. They are both super talented and I think they both have amazing careers ahead of them! I love Adam for his uniqueness as well as how over the top he is.

Photobucket
I love Kris for his laid back cuteness. Who are you all rooting for?

Photobucket
I'm also excited for the Dancing with the Stars finale tonight! I think they all deserve to win and have no idea who is going to take it! I'm rooting for either Melissa(cause she is America's sweetheart and has really put her heart into the competition) or...

Photobucket
Gilles(cause you know he's hot and knows how to work the dance floor.)

Photobucket
I also really like Shawn I just prefer the other two. Should be a great finale! Let me know who you are rooting for!

Music Monday: Eurydice...

Eurydice/Sleepthief...

Sleepthief(Justin Elswick) is a good friend of ours. He is SUPER talented and I love his music. It is considered electronic pop and I think it is very ethereal. It has been compared to groups like Delerium and Balligomingo. Justin composes the music and features different amazing female vocalists. I love his entire debut album(The Dawnseeker) and his second album comes out next month. I'm really excited! Check out one of my favorites...

If you like what you hear you can check out these...

Note: Justin is the "Chauffeur" in The Chauffeur video.

Breakfast with My Sisters...

Photobucket
Friday my sisters and I decided to take the kids to McDonald's for breakfast. The kids had a blast playing on all the slides and stuff and we were literally there for hours. We kind of joked about just staying for lunch because we were there so long but I'm pretty sure one meal in a day at McDonald's is plenty! :)

Photobucket
My sister's trying to feed their kids(who just wanted to play.)

Photobucket
I LOVE this picture of Avery! If only she was always this sweet! She has mastered throwing tantrums these days!

Photobucket
I think it was Maddy's first time at a McDonald's and he had a blast! Of course he didn't want to leave. He insisted on wearing that shirt because he said it is a "slide shirt"?

Photobucket
All the kids having fun.

Thanks Jamie and Stacy! Can't wait for this weekend!

After we ate I stopped at Target to do a little shopping. My sister mentioned they had really cute clothes for the kids and she was right! I got a bunch of stuff(I just couldn't resist!) The prices were great! The kids looked so cute in their clothes that I took a bunch of pictures that I will be posting soon. Steve and I(and kids) also shopped almost all day on Saturday. Everything from clothes to home decor and of course groceries. It has been a while since I've really shopped for anything so I finally just did it. We were all exhausted last night when we got home. I have lots of fun stuff going on this weekend(Scandinavian Festival, High School Reunion, No Doubt/Paramore Concert) so of course I'll be posting lots of pictures.

Flashback Friday: Yearbooks...

So I don't know if anyone has noticed but I have been totally slacking on my Flashback Friday posts. I kind of got a little burned out and am starting to run out of stuff to post. I still have some stuff(including my Hawaii vacation-I finally found the CD of pictures) so we will see how it goes. It might still be hit and miss! My 15 year high school reunion is next week and I've been helping scan some old yearbook pictures for a video they are making and came across these and had to post them...

My Mother's Day...

Photobucket
I had a great Mother's Day and definitely got spoiled! Steve's company had a booth at the Women's Expo over the weekend so he did some trading with some other vendors. As a result I got lots of cool stuff(bracelet, earrings, hats, apron, two massage certificates-which I'm super excited about, and some cupcakes to die for-I'm not even a cupcake fan but I am now!) Thanks Steve! Of course I wanted to get a picture with the kids Sunday morning and had the bright idea to go outside. Well it was too bright(literally) and the kids(or Steve) weren't cooperating so I had to take what we could get. We are all squinting and these two aren't great but they were the best of the four we got.

Photobucket
The kids are both coming down with colds so they were a bit grumpy. It was Maddy's first time singing in Sacrament Meeting now that he is in Primary. He was a bit scared so I had to walk him up there and then he was behind a bunch of bigger kids so we couldn't even see him which was a bummer. It was also his first time giving a talk in Primary but again he was too shy so I ended up reading it for him. We spent the rest of the day just relaxing and had homemade pizza for dinner.

Pizza, Ice Cream and Lots of Fun...

Photobucket
This last Friday for our weekly get together we headed over to my sister Stacy's house. We decided to just hang out and let the kids make their own little pizza's, play and have some ice cream. YUM!

Photobucket
The kids make a picture with markers and stickers.

Photobucket
The kids made their own little pizza's. I love how excited they look in this picture.

Photobucket
Avery loved all the toys and the plastic cup.

Photobucket
Jace loved picking the toppings off his pizza. Love the look on his face.

Photobucket
I love this picture of my niece Claire.

Photobucket
The kids all loved playing hide-n-seek with their Aunt Stacy(she is always the funnest!) They especially loved hiding in the cupboard.

Photobucket
Everyone except Avery(she wasn't a fan-I think because it was so cold) enjoying their rainbow sherbet ice cream cones made by yours truly. I broke out my old Malt Shop skills. :)

Photobucket
We tried to get the kids to settle down(cause it was nap time) and watch The Land Before Time(which my sisters and I loved growing up) but it didn't last too long. They were busy playing and being crazy before too long. Thanks Stacy for letting us invade your house again. It was fun!

Music Monday: Nicest Thing...

I think this is the cutest/sweetest song/video. Just simple and honest!

Happy Mothers Day...

I want to wish my Mom, Steve's Mom and all the other mom's out there a Happy Mother's Day! Here is a poem that I really like...

A MOTHER'S LOVE

A Mother's love is something
that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendoured miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God's tender guiding hand.

Hats and Girls...

Photobucket
Maddy has been wanting us to buy him a hat for a while now. First off he has wanted one so he can be like his Dad. The other reason is because sometimes when he is riding his bike he says it is to bright and he can't see because of the sun. So I finally picked up a couple and of course had to take some pictures because he looked so cute!

Photobucket

Photobucket
I love this closeup picture!

Photobucket
Maddy has discovered all the cute little girls(and there are a lot) in the neighborhood and his new favorite thing to do is chase them. They all love it and of course so does he! He pretends like is is a monster and growls and they all go running and screaming. Sometimes he seriously spends hours doing this. Here is a conversation I had with him yesterday while trying to put on his shoes so he could go across the street and play with the girls...

Me: "Maddy, how come you like chasing the girls so much?"
Maddy: "Because they are my girlfriends, all my girlfriends!"
Me: "Oh really?"
Maddy: " Yes they are and I like scaring them."

i carry your heart

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

Love isn’t an act, it’s a whole life.
It’s staying with her now because
she needs you; it’s knowing you
and she will still care about each other when
sex and daydreams, fights and futures—
when all that’s on the shelf and done with.
Love—why, I’ll tell you what love is:
it’s you at seventy-five and her at seventy-one,
each of you listening for the other’s
step in the next room, each afraid that a
sudden silence, a sudden cry,
could mean a lifetime’s talk is over.

Should I Be Worried...

Photobucket
Steve refuses to grow up! At the young age of 36(and shortly after knee surgery) Steve has decided to take up skateboarding again! Of course Maddy loves watching him and has to be in the middle of the action. He say's "Daddy, get your skateboard and I will ride my bike." Here are some pictures of Steve practicing some old tricks...

Music Monday: Hate Me...

Hate Me/Blue October...

I'm not a fan of the word hate but I think this song has a really strong, powerful message. Too often I think we take people for granted and sometimes even push them away. It's a great reminder to tell your loved ones how you feel because you never know when they will be gone. Once again I was unable to find a video that could be embedded so check it out here.
