The Eleventh Time...

Photobucket
Tuesday was our eleventh trip to Seven Peaks. We all made it and the kids started out a bit cranky but eventually had some fun. Love the above picture of Avery! She is all of a sudden becoming a little girl!

The Tenth Time...

Photobucket
Monday was our tenth trip to Seven Peaks. I know Seven Peaks posts have pretty much taken over my blog... but that's what a big portion of our Summer has been made of so far. The first thing the kids ask me every morning is "Can we go to Seven Peaks?" I love the three little freckles on Maddy's cheek (in the picture above) that would make a triangle if you connected the dots.

Photobucket
Avery is getting braver and will venture out into the kid pool a bit instead of just staying by the stairs.

Maddy being silly...

Photobucket
... there's that cute face!

Armed (and not so dangerous)...

Photobucket
... at least me! Ha! Friday was date night for Steve and I. Steve planned it this time around so guess where he took me... the shooting range! He has been wanting for me to learn how to shoot his gun for some time now. I'm a bit intimidated by guns and would be the type that would crawl under my bed, curl up in a ball and cry if someone were to break into our house. Anyhow, when he mentioned going I was actually kind of excited. I'm always up for something new and exciting! He showed me how to load it and all that good stuff while we were there. I must admit as soon as it was my turn and I had the gun in my hand I was nervous! Call me crazy but I was more nervous then when we went skydiving last year. My heart started racing and my hands got all sweaty and I wasn't sure I wanted to do it. I was most afraid of how well I'd be able to handle the gun. I actually asked Steve if he could help me... like put his hands over mine. He just laughed and told me to just do it. After the first shot I felt a lot more comfortable and had a fun time. It was kind of an adrenaline rush. I do need to work on my aim though... my shots stayed on the paper for the most part but I had a hard time getting them to land on the number I was trying to hit. I was usually too low... so watch out guys-if you ever try and break into my house and I've got a gun pointed at your chest guess where you're probably going to get hit... haha! Steve has had more practice and of course he did awesome! He got 14 of his first 15 shots on the 3 and the 15th shot was the one closest to the three.

We shot 150 rounds between the two of us and this was our damage. Most of the random shots I have to claim... After finishing we did a bit of thrift shopping for Halloween costumes (I know I'm crazy but I'm excited) and then we went and had dinner at Cafe Paesan. YUMMY! If you live in the area and haven't tried it yet, GO! One of Steve's friend/client's (and his wife) was there so it was fun chatting with them while we ate dinner. After dinner we came home and watched a movie together. Thanks Steve for a super fun date night!

The Ninth Time...

Photobucket
Friday was our ninth trip to Seven Peaks. We met by the Wave Pool and had a great time as usual.

Photobucket
Avery with her stitches out and so happy to be back in the water! Again she was a tough girl while getting her stitches out and was grinning ear to ear the whole time the nurse was taking them out. Too funny!

Photobucket
"Cheese!"

Photobucket
Some of Jamie and Stacy's friends were there also so it was lots of fun for the kids to have more kids to play with.

Photobucket
Stacy and Jace. Doesn't she look great! Baby Cole is only three weeks old. She is one hot mama!

Photobucket
Jamie being Supermom again... this time in the Wave Pool. You go girl!

The Eighth Time...

Photobucket
Wednesday was our eighth trip to Seven Peaks. It was the last time I had to keep Avery out of the water (because of her stitches), so future trips should be a lot more enjoyable for her and me...

Photobucket
A not so happy moment... I guess it's kind of mean to take a three year old to the pool and not let her get in the water.

Photobucket
Maddy and Dallin had fun with these squirt guns Jamie brought.

Photobucket
I have to admit that my kid was the annoying kid in the pool squirting everyone else so we eventually had to take the guns away from them...

Photobucket
... and Maddy wasn't happy at all. He kept his arms folded across his mad face and wouldn't even look at me or Jamie when we were trying to explain why. Eventually they redeemed themselves and got the guns back and were better behaved with them (as far as we know.)

Photobucket
Before we left Jamie decided to be brave and take four of the kids in the Lazy River by herself... she said it was like a juggling act trying the keep the girls in the tubes from floating away and the boys heads above the water when it dropped down and got a little deeper. She's braver than me for sure! Fun times!

The Seventh Time...

Photobucket
Tuesday was our seventh trip to Seven Peaks this year. Stacy, Jamie and kids all came so we are on track for a fun summer!

Photobucket
Avery wasn't too happy because I wouldn't let her get more than her feet wet because of her stitches. The Dr. said not to let them get too wet because then it inhibits healing.

Photobucket
The kids love the squirt guns!

One Tough Girl!

Photobucket
Monday we were out working in the yard and getting ready to finish up and head to Seven Peaks. Avery fell on the cement in our backyard and split her chin open. Steve got to her first and told me she probably needed stitches. The cut was only about 1/3 inch long but Steve examined it and it looked pretty deep. It also wasn't a clean straight cut so we decided we better take her to the Dr. and get it checked. Luckily her Dr.'s office was able to get her right in and we didn't have to take her to Instacare or the ER. It was our first time ever taking one of the kids in for something like that. The Dr. told us that it was a "crush wound" and recommended definitely putting a few stitches in it... especially since she's a girl. It's cool for boys to have scars right!?!

Photobucket
She was totally one tough little girl! She didn't even shed one tear or move or flinch at all. Not even when they gave her the shot and put in the numbing liquid (which they said feels like a really bad bee sting.) She just laid there with her game face on and didn't move at all. They couldn't believe it at all. They said most adults have a had time with it and they have to put most kids out. They got her all numb and then a few minutes later the Dr. came back in and stitched her up while I held her hand. Again she put her game face on and laid there not moving or crying at all. Steve and I were so proud of her... I wish I was that tough!

Photobucket
She was so excited to get a sucker and was as crazy, playful and happy as ever for the rest of the day. As soon as we left she said she wanted to go to Seven Peaks. Maddy was begging to go as well. We were able to finally convince them to stop and get snow cones instead. Steve had to be back to work in a couple hours so by the time we got there we would've only been able to be there for an hour. Friday we go back to get the stitches out and hopefully it will heal well.

Steve's Daddy Day...

Photobucket
Steve and the kids Sunday morning before church.

Maddy is not cooperative at all if it's bright outside and the sun is in his eyes. We even moved to a spot where the sun wasn't in his eyes but he was still not happy. This was the only picture I got before he started having a complete meltdown. It turned out a lot better then I thought it would given the circumstances.

I think Steve had a pretty good Father's Day. I offered to make him a big breakfast but he only wanted what he usually has for breakfast... oatmeal and a protein shake. At church the Primary kids sang some songs for all the Dad's in Sacrament Meeting. Maddy went up there willingly but didn't sing. We did get some smiles though. After church we just all relaxed and then we had our good friends Mike and Brittney (and kids) over for a BBQ. All the food was yummy and we had a great time hanging out. They normally stay to watch a movie after dinner but we got a later start than usual so we decided to skip the movie this week.

On Saturday Maddy saw that I had bought finger paints for the little craft I had planned for the Primary kids I teach so of course he was curious and wanted to do it. I promised him after church he and Avery could make cards for Steve. They had a fun time...

Whatever Wednesday: B&W or Color?

Photobucket
I prefer the B & W.

Photobucket
Steve prefers color.

Which do you think looks better?

The Sixth Time...

Photobucket
Saturday Steve was able to come to Seven Peaks with us again. We decided to go ahead and get him a season pass. The kids always love it when he is able to come so of course we had a great time!

His Passion...

Photobucket
... Ben 10!

This is all of the Ben 10 stuff Maddy has collected (at least what we could find.) He also has all six volumes available on DVD. Not a day passes without him playing with them (sound affects and all) and he usually plays with them throughout the day all day long. Any money he earns or is given for gifts he spends on Ben 10 stuff. He already knows what he wants next while he is saving up. Of course Avery is a huge fan as well... she loves anything her brother does. She knows almost all the Ben 10 aliens names but I'd be willing to bet she couldn't name one princess.

Quite the army!

Strawberry Day's Carnival...

Photobucket
After "Huck Finn Days" on Friday we went over to the "Strawberry Days" Carnival. We packed a picnic for lunch but of course we had to get some of the famous Strawberries & Cream... so yummy! We checked out some of the booths and the kids went on a few rides. We all had a great time!
