SYTYCD 5.1 Recap...

I thought all the dancers did a great job last night, especially since it is only week one. If last night was any indicator of the season then it is going to be awesome! It is hard for me to even pick a favorite. There really wasn't a routine that I didn't like but here are the ones I liked the most(in order of performance.)

Jeanine & Phillip's Hip Hop routine performed to Mad by Ne-Yo(which I love.) It was choreographed by Tabitha & Napoleon who I love because there is always a great story line and clever choreography. It was about a couple that couldn't fall asleep without resolving their issues. I thought both Jeanine and Phillip did awesome and I absolutely love Phillips fun/unique moves.

Randi & Evan's Jazz routine performed to I Only Have Eyes For You by Jamie Cullum. It was choreographed by Tyce Diorio. It was a sensual, intimate love story. I love both Randi(go Utah) and Evan and look forward to seeing more from them.

Caitlin & Jason's Bollywood routine performed to Jai Ho from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack. It was choreographed by Nakul Dev Mahajan. I have to give them props because it was a super hard routine and they pulled it off. I love that they have added this dance to the lineup. It is fun to see for a change.

Ashley & Kupono's Jazz routine performed to Felt Mountain by Goldfrapp. It was choreographed by Wade Robson. It was about crash test dummies and living life like you've never been hurt. Can I just say that Wade never ceases to amaze me! Where does he come up with this stuff? I totally agree with Nigel, he is a genius and whether or not you like his work it is definitely memorable!

Melissa & Ade's Contemporary routine performed to Right Here Waiting by Richard Marx. It was choreographed by Mandy Moore. It was about a couple who is just falling in love. It was very romantic and it is no big shock that I loved this one because Contemporary is my favorite style. :)

Kayla & Max's Samba routine performed to Jum Bah Day by House of Gypsies. It was choreographed by Louis van Amstel. I was super impressed with Kayla! That girl brought it and is definitely one to watch! I have to also mention that I'm so glad they have added Louis to the choreographers this year. I think he is an amazing choreographer and I have loved all his work on Dancing with the Stars.

I can't not mention Mary. Why does she have to scream so much? It drives me crazy! She was screaming all night last night and even started losing her voice. I have to admit I was totally cracking up at her botox mention though! I don't even have a guess at who will be in the bottom three or who will be going home. Let me know what you all thought and who your favorites were. I think we are in for an amazing season!

Loved! I loved the dance with featuring Jamie Cullum too, since that was the song Bob and I danced to at our wedding. I seriously can't pick who I think is going home. Maybe Janette?
