BYU Art Festival...

Photobucket
On Wednesday the kids and I and my sisters Stacy and Jamie(and kids) went to the BYU Art Festival. It was quite the outing! Most of the kids were cranky and Avery cried and threw tantrums the ENTIRE time because I left her doll in the car. My bad... I learned my lesson! I love this picture of the balloons. The kids got one when they left(although they weren't too excited about it cause they were cranky.) Here are some highlights...

The kids got to decorate a giant cookie with frosting and candy.

I caught Maddy licking the frosting stick and then double dipping... quiet, don't tell. :)

I think Stacy wins...

The kids trying to stay entertained while waiting in line for face painting. Can you tell what Maddy's favorite color is? He also picked a green balloon when we left.

Sweet, happy sleeping baby. Little Lola slept the entire time.

Not a happy girl... :( I even tried getting her out of the stroller to build castles and she just sat there with a scowl on her face and threw the blocks we gave her.

Stacy trying to cheer her up...

Claire, Jace and Dallin got their faces painted. My kids wanted nothing to do with it. :(

After we finished at the Festival we decided to go to the BYU Creamery for lunch. We thought it would be easier to walk than load up the kids and unload them again. It was quite the walk! Maddy wanted to ride in the stroller and Avery wanted out. The only problem was she wanted to take off. The minute I would grab her hand or pick her up(like if there were cars coming) she would throw a fit. We did survive and made it... barely!

At the Creamery waiting for our food(and trying to feed Avery.) We are 0/2 as far as the kids behaving when going to the Creamery. Maybe a third time will be the lucky ticket? We will see if we are brave enough to try.

Are you kidding me? As soon as Avery was reunited with her doll in the car she was all smiles(after three hours of tears.)

Just when we thought the day couldn't get worse my sister Jamie and I found these on our windshields. Yep that's right, a parking ticket! So not deserved! Apparently we were parked in "faculty parking." We were warned not to park in faculty parking when entering the parking lot so we looked in front of the stalls to make sure... no signs. I guess the signs are small and blue and at the END of the row and they look exactly like the "visitor parking" signs. Jamie found this out after going to talk to someone. I didn't even realize what it was(cause I was in too big of a hurry to get home) until she called me and asked if I got one as well. I thought to myself, "that is what is stuck on my window." I had just left it there thinking it was some dumb advertisement or something.

Sorry if this post sounded negative. I just try and keep things real and I guess this week just hasn't been my best week. Avery has had lots of blow out diapers(and still is) and I'm trying to figure out if she is allergic to something. I'm tired of changing her clothes and bedding sometimes three times a day. The kids have been doing an excellent job of pushing my buttons this week and I also burned my hair last night while starting the grill. Anyway, hopefully the weekend will be better. I'm also hoping Mother Nature will remember that it is June and this rain will stop. I'm really wanting to go the the pool and play outside. Our anniversary is Monday and the rainy weather is putting a damper on my skydiving plans. :( I'm determined to go... we just might have to wait a week or two.

I love looking at all of your pictures! Do you go to a website to edit them? And what kind of camera do you have? They all look so good!

Thanks Heather! The camera I use is the Canon Powershot A590. It retails for around $200 but you can get it for a lot cheaper. I think they even sell it at Wal Mart. I think we paid around 130 and that included a nice accessory kit. I bought mine on Amazon dot com. It is a cheaper camera but my main thing is I wanted one that is fast because I have little kids. It is 8 mp. with 4x optical zoom. It also has video which I love. Someday I want to get a nice slr camera. But until then this works great! As far as editing I use Picassa. It is a free google download and has a lot of stuff. I also have Photoshop but I haven't taken time to figure it all out and it is complicated. I want to take a class. Picassa has everything most people will need and is pretty user friendly.

It did look like a fun activity, even if the kids were cranky. Give the parking office a call, they used to remove the ticket from your record if you just called and told them a sob story. They used to give a freebie. It's worth a try anyway.
