First Trip to Instacare...

As I mentioned while we were at Trafalga on Saturday I noticed a huge bump on Maddy's shin. It was so huge and swollen and had clear liquid leaking out of it. It was almost the size of his calf and made his leg look all deformed (the picture doesn't do it justice at all.) We have no idea when or how it happened-he never acted like he had gotten bit or anything. We figured it was some kind of spider/insect bite. Later that evening Steve and I took the kids to our ward party and then afterwards we decided that I would take him to Instacare and have it checked because you just never know with bites. The Doctor we saw was pretty sure it was some kind of bite because of how fast it had progressed. He collected some of the fluid from the wound to send to the lab and told us to watch it and make sure it didn't get worse. He told us to give him some Benadryl and also prescribed him an antibiotic just incase it was some kind of infection. Maddy did awesome and cooperated with the Dr. and didn't cry at all. He also weighed in at 36.4 lbs.
