4th of July Parade/Festival...

On Friday, the 4th of July, my sister and I decided to take the kids to the Provo parade/festival. It was quite the adventure! We had a fun time although I'm not sure I will do it next year...
We parked our strollers on the grass and worked our way through the crowd and sat in the very front of the crowd right on the road. Maddy was very clingy and had to sit on my lap the whole time. After about a half hour of the parade with two kids on my lap my back wasn't feeling to great so we headed to the festival.
My sister and her two kids-isn't her hat so cute! Dallin was a little upset that there wasn't candy being thrown and he wouldn't smile for the picture.

There were a ton of people and we had to park so far away-probably a mile. Jamie got the bad end of the deal because she had a double stroller that we made a triple stroller. She had to maneuver the stroller with three kids on it while we made the long trek to the parade. I on the other hand just had to push Avery. Here are the somewhat happy kids just starting the day.

Here are some of the kids favorite floats and balloons in the parade. They also loved the airplanes, four wheelers and motorcycles. Maddy would clap and squeal really loud-it was cute!

Maddy fishing for a prize-he got a orange blow up balloon...
Maddy and Dallin having a little fun jumping in the blow up tent...
The kids(as well as our) favorite part of the hot day-the giant odder pops...

As you can see the girls weren't very happy and eventually cut our day short.

Thank goodness for the giant odder pops that kept the long walk to our cars a little more bearable. All set backs aside we did have a fun time spending the day together.

You put had instead of hat. It was fun. I like your post better than mine- I might redo mine?

Love the hat. You two are brave to take such little ones to a crowded extravaganza like that.

The parade is a lot of work especially when they are so little. I always love how you post your pictures. I have a lot to learn from you. Glad you had a fun day!

So fun! It does seem like so much work when they are little, but worth it in the end. I too would love to know how you post you pictures like you do. Maybe you should teach a class!?!?

You're a good mom for taking your kids to the parade. It seems like more work than it's worth. We actually did take them a couple of years ago and they didn't care for it- so why do it again?
