Keeping Me on My Toes...

These two are pretty much attached at the hip when they are awake. Maddy is always wondering when Avery is going to wake up and Avery follows Maddy around all day long. I love that they already love playing together but sometimes I just feel like a referee.

On Friday Avery's feeding/motor skills therapist came to see how she was doing. He did an overall evaluation(motor skills, fine motor skills, speech, cognitive, behavioral, feeding, etc.) She is right in the normal range(based on her corrected age of 19 months) in every area except feeding of course. We are still working on her chewing. She will bite of the first bite and then just lets it sit there. Eventually if it doesn't dissolve, she will try and swallow it. Other than that she is doing great. She is also a little fireball and gets very upset if things don't go her way.

Maddy is growing up way too fast! Friday night Steve wasn't home yet so Maddy and I decided we wanted breakfast for dinner. I made us some eggs(with cheese of course), toast, avocado slices and apple slices. He only wanted to eat eggs and cheese. I finally told him that he needed to eat his toast because it would give him lots of energy so he could run really fast. That seemed to do the trick. He took a few bites and then got off his chair and starting running as fast as he could from the bathroom to the kitchen back and forth. When I asked him what he was doing he said he was seeing if the toast made him run faster. I was totally cracking up laughing. He came and sat back down and ate a couple more bites and then got up and started running again. It was the cutest thing ever. If only they would always believe what you said! Right after dinner(and all the running) at 8:05 he asked me to put him to bed. This has never happened before. Lately it has been quite the chore to get him to bed at a decent hour. He decided he didn't need a nap(I think he is transitioning to no nap) and so he was really tired. I told him I would call Dad to see if he was almost home so he could rock him(he always wants Steve to rock him.) He said he didn't want to wait for Daddy he wanted to go right to bed. I was completely fine with that so I put him to bed and enjoyed the rest of my evening.

I took this picture when I put him to bed. He is very particular about how his bed is made and has to have three blankets put on him in a specific order. I can't believe how fast he is growing up and how much he is changing every day!

What cute kids you have, Stephanie! I'll have to start eating more toast and see if that works for me.
