My sister Stacy and a bunch of girls from her ward planned a girls night out for the release of "Breaking Dawn." She invited me and my sisters so of course I tagged along! I'm willing to use about any excuse to get a break and go out and have fun! Actually this is why I decided to read the books. I'm almost done with the second one so I've got the vampire fever and it was fun to go-thanks for the invite Stacy! We ate at Bajio and then headed over to Barnes & Noble. It was actually my first experience with one of these crazy book release parties. There was a bunch of activities set up like face painting, fortune telling, trivia contest, costume contest, etc. There were so many people you could hardly walk through the store. The best part for me was the people watching. There were people decked out in all kinds of home made tee shirts, makeup and costumes-including prom dress, wedding dresses and of course lots of vampires.

Here is most of our "Team Edward" group...their tee shirts were really cute and said "Real Men Sparkle" on the front and "I Love Edward" on the back.
The "vampire" in the middle was one of the Barnes & Noble employees.

My sisters, Shalane, Jamie and Stacy.

A little of our own vampire fun...

As you can see I'm not very good at playing the victim.
Stacy's picture with the vampires(I think they were suppose to be Edward and Alice.) She actually knows the female vampire's sister, She trained her back in the good old mission days, small world huh!

Sounds like fun. What time did you get home?
What a fun night out! I'm sure a bore, I would never dress up (maybe a T-shirt), but I love that some people do. We need people like that in the world (drag queens aside) I need to jump on the vampire train too!
Julie-we didn't stay for the actual realease at midnight. My sisters have already pre-ordered the book on Amazon. I've just been reading theirs...although I will probably end up buying them-they are definantly rereads! I got home at about 11:30.
I told you you'd be hooked.
I like how you did black and white on the pictures, it looks good! Thanks for coming, it was a blast.
Looks like you guys had a great night out! Despite all of he great things I have heard, I still haven't starting reading the vampire books yet, but they are on my list of "things to read one day when I am not so busy"...it's a pretty long list. Glad you had fun, happy reading!
Looks like fun, I always think it is so funny to hear about all the people that get so into it. I have a book but haven't started it yet. I am a fan of the series! I guess just not a big enough one to go down until midnight for the book. I picked mine up while at costco on Saturday afternoon.
